64th Note v0.08 by Halley's Comet Software 10/31/04 64th Note is a Winamp plugin for USF files, which contain music code from Nintendo 64 games. The majority of the code is from Project 64 v1.4 by Zilmar and Jabo. Audio HLE (High Level Emulation) is based on Azimer's Audio plugin v0.55.1 The reading and writing of PSF tags is performed by code from Neill Corlett's PSFPoint. The amalgamation of all this into a Winamp plugin is the work of Halley's Comet Software/hcs/Adam Gashlin. NOTE: 64th Note is known to occasionally crash Winamp at random, especially when switching with other plugins. Use it at your own risk. NOTE: To use 64th Note with programs other than Winamp ensure that RSP.dll is in the same directory as the player executable. --- configuration --- The defaults are for maximum compatibility. * Play Forever When this option is selected all tracks will play until manually stopped. * Default Length/Fade When this option is selected tracks without a length tag set will be given this default length and fade. * Detect Silence The track will end, regardless of any other settings, if the given amount of silence is detected. * Audio HLE Enable simulation of the audio synthesis software. This can cause some tracks to play incorrectly but can reduce the CPU load significantly. (example: Goldeneye) * Fast Seek When this option is enabled RSP emulation is disabled while seeking, making seeking much faster. In some situations this can cause glitches when playback resumes. * Use Recompiler CPU The Recompiler CPU generates native PC code for the N64 program, causing much faster execution. There is no need to disable this option anymore, but who knows if it will be needed again in the future? * RSP Sections This enables some higher level examination of the audio synthesis software for better performance, but occasionally at the expense of accuracy. (example: Majora's Mask: Bass Practice) This option will be ignored if Audio HLE is selected. * Title format This is the template used for generating song titles for display in Winamp. A name surrounded by percent signs (%) will be replaced by the value of that tag with that name if it is found in the USF. If a tag is not found the file name will be used as the title. * Relative Volume If you find that 64th Note is quieter or louder than your other plugins adjust this value. * Soft Amplify When this is enabled 64th Note will use a modified amplification method designed to compress higher amplitudes to prevent clipping. While it is quite useful in some cases it distorts the sound noticeably, so it is disabled by default. * CPU Thread Priority Set the priority for 64th Note, higher values than "Normal" may prevent skipping but only at the expense of everything else running on your computer. During seeking the priority is always set to "Normal" to avoid saturating the CPU. --- Contact --- hcs can be reached at halleyscometsoftware@hotmail.com, hcs@freeshell.org, etc. Check out http://here.is/halleyscomet for new versions of 64th Note, USF sets for several games, and other cool stuff.
