My
name is Farah Hussain and I will be the Community Service Chair for the
Rutgers University Chapter of American Medical Student Association! I am
entering my junior year with a major in Cell Biology and Neuroscience
and Middle Eastern Studies.
When I'm not studying, I love to spend an evening reading a Jane Austen
or a Victor Hugo novel and I often enjoy taking a couple hours to
writing and sharing my work others. I'm also an avid supporter of the
Italian Soccer Team and played the position as a goalie for nearly my
entire life.
I hope to one day possibly work with children when I become a physician,
and I truly aspire to have the work ethic and passion of doctors like,
Dr. Sampson Davis and Dr. Atul Gawande. In addition to AMSA, I am
involved with the university chapter of The Student Society for Stem
Cell Research, where I hold the position of Secretary. This year, I
really hope to get all of our AMSA members involved with various
projects to enhance our organization's commitment to helping the New
Brunswick campus and city. I want to streamline our projects with other
clubs and really get everyone interested in and focused on important
issues that affect health care today. Please e-mail me at farahh@eden.rutgers.edu,
if for information on upcoming projects! :)
