Green Earth Door

Jerald Wild

Before I knocked on the green earth door
I heard lovers cry
And I heard lovers laugh,
And knew that a genesis was near;
There beneath no darkness and no light
No force would ask
Whether I sought to go in or come out
And no force would answer,
And I was a ghost by that green earth door
And I was a man by that green earth door

And I knocked and passed through
And saw bones and worms
And foetus and father,
Birth being born, death dying
The beneath the darkness and teh light;
And all forces askedd
Whether I had risen or fallen
And all the  forces asked
Whether I had risen or fallen
And all the forces answered,
And I was a man by that green earth door
And I was a ghost by that green earth door.

And I was the wood of that green earth door
and I shall be the wood of that green earth door
