Sentence-structure (syntax), sound-patterns (phonology), word-form (morphology), and aspects of meaning (semantics) will be discussed using the theories you are likely to encounter during later classes at Rutgers. Principles of Universal Grammar, crosslinguistic comparison, language acquisition, and social issues of language will also be covered.
