My Intro to Graphic Design

My first class of Graphic Design began in my fall 2008 semester at Rutgers University. The first project assigned was to create a character, it could be anyone of any gender, age, occupation, class, etc. I then had to create a visual story about that person through means of finding four images of objects, four textures, and four pieces of text. All three groups had to work as a whole to convey the story of the character I imagined.

Upon selecting the best images to create our visual biography of my imaginary person, I was to combine one image, text, and texture into a composition. The end result would be four final images all combined and arranged appropriately to tell a story to the audience.

My imaginary person was a 40 year old cat woman. She lived her life isolated with an intense phobia of falling in love. She was obsessed with the world of anime and manga and lived vicariously through the wild tales of her comic books. She is constantly dressing up and walking around in cosplay and by no means can function in the real world.
