| The Latino Student Council has entered into an new
era of prosperity. A group of proffesional, educated Latinos have come
to Rutgers with the sole intention of making our lives easier. Their
name is H.A.C.E. , the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement. On
January 20, 2003 at ~ 7 P.M. we were visited by representatives from
HACE. They had flown here to New Jersey from Illinois to give us a
presenation on their organization. Click
here to view the presentation. Needless to say it was very impressive.
We have entered into an agreement that will provide us with grants,
scholarships, proffesional mentoring, Latino-based career fairs, internship
opportunities, award recoginition and a lot more. The best part is
that this is effective immediately! Below is a copy of an emial that
Griselda, one of the representatives from HACE send us. |

To Latino Student Council,
Fue un gran placer poderte conocerte
a fines de enero en Rutgers. De antemano, te pido disculpas por la tardanza
en enviar esta nota. Thank you, specially, for your
patience given our late flight and arrival and taking time the time to learn
about HACE and our plans for the Latino students at the university. We, at HACE, are excited about
the possibilities that exist for HACE at As discussed at our meeting,
please find enclosed an electronic version of the presentation we made on
Monday, Jan. 20. Please feel free to share with your student organization
and any other Latinos you feel may benefit. Lastly, please take special note
of the “Career Achievement Awards” which seeks to recognize young Latino professionals.
