Brothers Activities Committee

Committee Heads -- Br. Ahmad Meshal & Br. Amro Ayoubi

Mission Statement

Alhamdu lillah, at Rutgers we are blessed with a great population of Muslim brothers. However, despite the great numbers, there is a lack of unity within the community. The Brothers Activities Committee at Rutgers is specifically designed to help strengthen the unity. Whether it be in the masjid for a dars, on a basketball court during an I-slam tournament, or on campus for a lecture -- it is essential that the brothers at Rutgers unite by spending time together in a way that would please Allah. Alhamdu lillah, the brothers in the past have done a great job with brothers activities and inshaa' Allah, we look to only strengthen that foundation. We propose to accomplish this by focusing on organization, consistency and participation. In the process, Inshaa' Allah we hope to strengthen our iman, get to know each other and make the best out of our college experience at Rutgers University.

Aside from all of these activities, there are always times when brothers are in need. We must remember the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who said, "None of you will have faith until he wishes for his brother what he likes for himself." Inshaa' Allah, if we all strive to help each other, then Allah will help us and bless us with a stronger Muslim Community.

Inshaa' Allah, if we all take the time to participate, this year should prove to be a huge success in increasing the unity of the brothers at Rutgers University.

Ayah (Verse) of the Month:

"God! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory)."

(Surat Al-Baqarah 2:255)

Hadith of the Month:

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah said, "Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day, either speak good or keep silent, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his neighbor, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest."
