Leibniz
Leibniz is credited along with Isaac Newton with inventing the infinitesimal calculus in the 1670s. According to Leibniz's notebooks, a critical breakthrough occurred on November 11, 1675, when he employed integral calculus for the first time to find the area under the function y = x. He introduced several notations used to this day, for instance the integral sign representing an elongated S, from the Latin word summa and the d used for differentials, from the Latin word differentia.

Welcome to Math 152, Section C1! All the information you need will be posted here, so check back often!

(07/18) Homework Solutions Most of section 10.3 is graphing, so I omitted those solutions. The rest of them are up, including 10.4, which is for tomorrow. Still do the problems, though!

(07/10) Taylor Workshop. Remember that the workshop is due before the start of class on Thursday. There will be no more time in class to work on it.

(07/07) Exam 2! Get ready! The exam is on Monday! I just posted the first page of the exam, which may be helpful. There will be no equation sheet - you will not need it!

(06/10) Section 7.5. Remember that we will not be covering section 7.5. However, since that section does not go over anything new, do not be surprised if you get an integral like the ones posed in that section on the exam!

(06/07) Problem 26 on section 7.3. For those of you in class this morning, recall that I gracefully skipped over doing problem 26. Click here to view how it would be done.

(06/02) A note on homework solutions. I assume no responsibility on the correctness of the homeworks, and you should not rely on them for the truth. I simply aim to show what process should be going on in your head when you are doing these problems. I welcome you all to let me know of mistakes in the homework.
