Each of the awareness programs in the Disability Awareness & Character Development series is coordinated by A Vision in Motion, Speakers Bureau. This bureau specializes in experienced motivators who have overcome tremendous adversity and enjoy sharing their experiences with children and teens, college students, parents, teachers, administrators, and adult audiences. Paul S. Wichansky is a member of this bureau.
Program topics include self-esteem enhancement, disability awareness, character development, peer pressure and conflict resolution, and other topics that enhance the intellectual growth of children, teens, and adults. Our Vision motivators continue to light the fire that is spreading far and wide across the state of New Jersey and other states.

Disability Awareness in Action
Opening his presentation by discussing the nature and causes of his cerebral palsy and hearing loss, Paul offers students an opportunity to reflect upon their own thoughts and ideas about people who have disabilities. He explains how his determination helped him get through the many years it took to learn simple everyday tasks, as well as accepting his own hearing aides as a complete "stereo system" right on his ears! Shifting gears, Paul then shares his own hobbies and interests, and includes a few videos such as his actual weather forecast on a CBS evening newscast, his artistic talents, and his recent skydiving adventures.
Paul has discovered a certain passion, a certain art, in reaching the probing minds of young students and enlightening them to the realities of people who may be different than they are. He discusses the challenges he has encountered to educate others about how a positive attitude can help anyone in their lives. Educating others on disabilities is much more effective when actively demonstrated by example, rather than gleaning the efforts from a textbook.
Paul's message is simple: when we allow our imagination and our realistic possibilities to soar, we can confidently leap over some of the most overwhelming hurdles that life throws at us.
