Biography
Through his words and actions, Paul S. Wichansky can be described as "inspiration personified." Embarking on an ambitious journey to conquer the effects of cerebral palsy, Paul has delivered hundreds of motivational programs that inspire his audiences to look beyond a person's disabilities to understand and appreciate one's capabilities. By sharing his personal experiences with humor, and encouraging questions that can help positively shape an understanding of people with disabilities, Paul tries to instill a sense of hope, energy, and inspiration that motivates his audiences to realize their own goals and dreams.
Starting his public speaking career when he was just ten years old, Paul has since delivered his programs to tens of thousands of people around the country. With this solid 22 years of speaking experience at schools, colleges, and teacher conventions, Paul has delivered keynotes to professionals in the education, medical, and human services fields as well as motivated thousands of athletes and coaches at the 2001 Special Olympics and government representatives at The United Nations. His interactive workshops focus upon culturally important topics such as disability and multicultural awareness, employee productivity, human resource and sensitivity training, and motivational seminars.
Born with ataxic cerebral palsy, Paul's weak leg muscles prevented him from learning to walk unassisted until he was seven years old. He went through intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy over the years to strengthen his leg muscles and improve motor and hand-to-eye coordination, participating in sports, fitness training, and now even skydiving! He was fortunate to be mainstreamed in his education, having earned both undergraduate and Masters degrees in meteorology. He is presently a Ph.D candidate at Rutgers University, focusing on the study of New Jersey historical land cover change and environmental science.
His life experiences are a true testament to the unrelenting power of courage and unconditional love, shared through his experiences and feelings of self-criticism, reflection, humor, joy, and, ultimately, triumph. Let Paul help your audience understand that the only real handicaps we have are those we create for ourselves.

Disability Awareness & Sensitivity
Program Goals
During his tenure as a cooperative meteorologist and team leader of forecast discussions, as well as a scientific researcher who has published articles in leading atmospheric journals, Paul developed new communication techniques for enhancing personal and professional growth.
With a promise to deliver a contagious enthusiasm to employees, Paul's awareness programs both inspire and motivate professionals in all levels of the corporate structure, while encouraging them to share their own uniqueness with others.
A former co-op student who was awarded the Cooperative Education Association's "Student of the Year" honor for the state of New Jersey, Paul S. Wichansky is uniquely qualified to deliver workshops and keynotes that describe the value of connecting college students to potential employers.
The series also educates employees on the perspectives and realities of growing up with a physical challenge, allowing them to develop a better understanding of, and perhaps an appreciation for, people with disabilities. The speaker shares personal life experiences using humor, so participants can identify and relate to activities and people within their own lives.
The program places a human face upon a disability while, at the same time, challenging its negative perception in society. The ability to identify, set, and remain focused upon realistic corporate goals, which are individual to each employee but contributing towards the overall company mission, allows the company to confidently soar past its own competitors!
Employee Productivity
Models for employers and employees ways in which respect, responsibility, honesty, and integrity can be used on a daily basis to enhance team interaction that impacts the company's bottom line. The program shows how employees can develop these qualities and motivate themselves to set high ethical standards, build upon their corporate goals, and remain focused through hard work together with a determination to produce results.
Overcoming Adversity
A captivating program presented by a speaker who has overcome cerebral palsy with the goal of inspiring employees to do the very best they can when faced with their own adversity. The audience is encouraged and, by example, shown how to accept their own challenges as among the greatest gifts that they have received in life.
Paul uses his own life experiences as examples to help inspire others to learn from their mistakes and failures, and in the process, increase their productivity within the company while minimizing potential conflicts between departments.
Conference Keynotes
Paul can deliver conference keynotes that identify the hallmarks of a successful company, while emphasizing certain qualities that allow employees to become leaders within their company or department, and also within their own community. His innovative ideas can also focus upon strategies to enhance communication between employer and employee, where the mindset then develops the intellectual power to transform any obstacle into an opportunity for self-improvement.
