WHERE: Dorms on Busch & Livingston!
It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unworn shoes lying in their closets. We can use each and every one of these pairs to make a tangible difference in someone's life! I'm sure you guys have an extra pair of shoes lying around the house/dorm waiting to be put to good use! We're collecting gently worn or new shoes for an organization Soles 4 Souls. Intervarsity small groups are setting up boxes around their dorms on Busch and Livingston so please drop off the shoes in one of the designated boxes.
You can also drop them off @ SERC 118 on Thursday nights from 9:30-11:00 PM.
Rutgers Intervarsity is partnering up with Soles for Souls to raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur. As we collect shoes we're counting 1 shoe to represent 20 deaths due to the genocide in Darfur. On November 15 from 1-4 PM we'll set up a display at the Garden State Plaza Mall (our back up plan is to set up the display at Goffle Brook Park) to raise awareness about the genocide and then the shoes will be donated to homeless shelters all over the world!
