About the RU Dems

As the largest political organization at Rutgers University, the Rutgers University Democrats seeks to promote awareness and involvement in Democratic politics both within and beyond the university community. Our Speakers' Series brings prominent political figures to Rutgers to discuss issues of importance to Rutgers students and educate the student body about the importance of getting involved in politics. In addition, we also assist students in getting involved in the greater political community, by providing opportunities to intern and volunteer throughout the state. We are also very active during the campaign season, helping to canvass, phonebank, and volunteer to help get Democrats elected in New Jersey. Also, during this time, we hold numerous voter registration drives to encourage students to register and vote Democrat.
