4/21/10	Meeting tonight (Rutgers Student Center room 454) and concert tomorrow! Check out the events page =)
3/17/10	Once Rutgers' Spring Break is over we will be coming into fun times at the Musicians Guild! RUMG will be waking up the Cook Campus Center this coming Thursday with a sweet concert starting around 6:30 PM, so put on your best "spring forward" face and get ready to party. Go to our events page or Facebook group for more info! And of course, we'll be having a meeting this Wednesday in the RSC room 454.
2/14/10	We've gotten off to a crazy start this year with the weather and everything, but the way to really kick it off is to come to our first event of the year! RUMG will be rocking the shiny new Livingston Hall this Thursday at 6:30 PM, so everyone should definitely come out. Go to our events page or Facebook group for more info! And of course, we'll be having a meeting this Wednesday in the RSC room 454.
11/18/09	Meeting tonight, concert on Friday! This Wednesday 11/18 - Billy Frank (of Obviatus) will be demonstrating how to use Melodyne at the meeting, which is a pitch-correction / voice editing software. If you ever wondered what you'd sound like with autotune, come to this workshop!! We're in room 454 in the RSC @ 8pm as usual. ALSO The Musicians Guild has collaborated with Objet D'art and the RU Photo Club to create this snazzy event called Darkroom Sessions. It's THIS FRIDAY November 20 at 7pm, and the following bands are scheduled to play: Stratazoid, Seventh Wave, Obviatus. so come out and support your fellow Guildies! and invite your friends :) Check out the events page on the left for more info.
11/04/09	Hope everybody's ready for an awesome workshop on making music in Garageband this next meeting, 11/04! Ryan S. is a super multi-talented musician, and he'll be teaching us a thing or two about making great compositions on Garageband for the Mac. (hint, even if you don't have a mac, i believe all the computer lab macs have garageband). So head to the (College Ave) Rutgers Student Center room 454 this Weds. (tonight!) at 8pm. you won't be sorry! thanks all.
10/05/09	We've had lots of fun meetings so far! Keep coming out. One of our bigger events, an RUMG concert featuring Rutgers musicians and their bands, is coming up soon too! 04/22/09	Yo it's Earth Day and the meeting is TODAY, Wednesday, @8pm in the Rutgers Student Center room 454. I'm glad we've been getting some new [and older!] faces recently, so keep it up! also next week is the last meeting for the semester, there will definitely be pizza and fun. look forward to it.

02/12/09	I encourage all to keep it up with great attendance at meetings, more people = more fun. With the success of the Physics of Guitar & Sound workshop by Ben Griffel and the Listening Party/Critique of the not-yet-released Obviatus album, we've got lots more interesting meetings to look forward to :) Thanks! If you have not yet come to a meeting, we love new people! Just walk in through the door of 454.

11/28/08	The thanksgiving fest was great, so of course THANKS for coming to the concert and enjoying the show. It may have even been a little bit epic. Since the Rutgers Thanksgiving holiday is nearly over, time to get back into a New Brunswick frame of mind.. but not for long. Our final meeting of the semester is this Wednesday 12/3 at 7pm (SEVEN) to 9pm in the DOUGLASS CAMPUS Center, in the swanky Meeting Room A. Ryan will be giving us a great musical/visual presentation and we'll also have some tasty pizza, it'll be a good time. It really is the last meeting, since next week is when reading days start for the studious, so let's party!
11/18/08	Thanks for new people coming out to the meetings, keep on doing so! They're still every Wednesday at 8pm in the Rutgers Student Center, this week we're preparing for our last concert of the semester, which is THIS FRIDAY. 10/15/08	The show at Demarest was great last week! Good to see some new faces, and we'd like to see you all again at the Trayes Hall show on the date which I now dub 'Rocktober' 17th. Check out the events page for details! It's easy to get to, first stop on the Douglass campus if you go on any bus. Also, Damian will likely be doing some kind of awesome banjo workshop next week during our Wednesday meeting, so look forward to it. The 10/22 meeting will be in the Douglass Campus Center's meeting room B. It's a Douglass campus kind of week :)
9/24/08	Thanks to everyone who came out tonight for Damian K.'s Shred Workshop! Next week (10/1) will be a lyric writing workshop & collaboration, in preparation for the week after that (10/8) when Ryan S. will be leading us in a GarageBand workshop which will ultimately end in a collaborative musical piece. It'll be grand so we can't wait to see you there! Same room 454 at 8pm in the Rutgers Student Center.

9/2/08	Welcome back for another fun filled musical year of learning and noise. Our first event is going to be this upcoming Sunday. We will be having a table at the Involvement Fair. Come on out and learn more about the organization. Our first meeting will be on September 10, next Wednesday. Some come on out and meet people, share summer musical endeavors, and possibley enjoy a little FREE food.
4/29/08	Hey all, tomorrow is our LAST MEETING for the semester. We are going to try to get food and drink for the meeting, but due to a budget mess(Rutgers has allocation problems), food and drink my not be availble. But whatever, come anyway. You won't see these people again... for 3-4 months. (unless you happen to see them outside of meetings... WHICH YOU DON'T)
4/23/08	Just a reminder that our Red Lion Show is tomorrow (Thu) night. It will be starting at 6:30, but why wait until 6:30 to get there? Get there at 6, or 5:30 even and hang out, grab grub, or get some studying done before the show!
4/8/08	At this weeks meeting, we will be showing a music related movie. Our feature film will be none other than: Six String Samurai. To present this, we will need to start the meeting at 7 pm. So make sure you show up at 7 instead of 8. We will also take signups of bands/performers that want to play at the Apr 24 Red Lion show.
4/2/08	At tonights meeting we will be talking about the April 24 Red Lion show, as well as budget for next year, and we may just have a workshop that many will be interested in. See you there.
3/18/08	Our next show is just around the corner. March 28 in Yorba Lounge we will be presenting 7 bands. Most are from the Guild, a few aren't. Come check it out, it'll be a rad time.
2/12/08	Well hello there. This Thursday is the Rutgers Involvement Fair. We are going to have a table there with a huge display, pictures, giveaways, and best of all, members from the Guild. The event is from 11am until 2pm in the Rutgers Student Center. Come and stop by to say hi and meet some members, and find out more about the organization. We are meeting to finish up the display this Wednesday at our meeting. Also, we will be talking about the Feb. 29 College Hall show that is coming up shortly. See you there.
1/23/08	Hey everyone. I hope the break was great and musical for you. Our first meeting is tonight for the spring semester. Show up and find out just how much has changed over winter break.
12/8/07	If you missed our show yesterday, then you missed some great bands. There was a good crowd and thanks to Neal, we had desserts to snack on. Our last meeting is this upcoming Wednesday and as we always do, we will have food and drink so that we can leave the semester being merry. We may also have a surprise workshop, so show up!
11/28/07	I finally added the article that was about us in the Targum. Click Here to see article. The officers were interviewed at the September 21st Yorba show. Also we have a show coming up on Dec 7 so make sure you add that to your calendar and show up!
11/8/07	Big news has struck the Musicians Guild, we have funding for our own PA! We now do not have to keep borrowing from other bands. I know many of you are wondering now if you will be able to borrow it, but that will not be possible due to Rutgers policies. If you are knowledgable about PA's, we welcome your assistance in choosing which one to get. At next weeks meeting on Nov. 14th, we will be having a music related movie night. After voting on which one to see, the winner is... Find out next Wednesday.
10/17/07	We are having our second workshop tonight featuring Guild member Cameron presenting the Doumbek, a Middle Eastern drum. If you know as little as I do about this, you are not going to want to miss this.
10/7/07	For all those that missed Damian's workshop, you missed a really interesting workshop. He showed his skills as well as do a lot of explanation behind what he does. We are planning more workshops so stay tuned to see what is coming up. The pictures are finally up for the Sept. 12 Yorba show. Go and check them out on the Photos page. Also, apparently I never made the pictures from the April College Hall show available. Well those are up now too. We have the our next show coming up this Friday in College Hall again, so make sure you make it out to that.
10/3/07	This evening at our meeting we are going to have an extraordinary presenter. Damian is going to show off his guitar 'shredding' skills. He did a workshop on this last semester and he is quite good at what he does. If you show up to only one meeting this semester, make it this one.
9/22/07	Our first show of the semester was yesterday, and it was great! There was a nice variety of musical genres in addition to a lot of really good musical talent. Our next show is coming up on Oct. 12 and it will be in College Hall. As for pictures from this show, I will try to have them up before next meeting.
9/18/07	We have our first show coming up this Friday in Yorba Lounge. I know this is a bit quick, but I tried to space all the shows this semester out as best as I could. For more info, click on the Events page.
9/5/07	Not only is the Involvement Fair this Sunday, our first meeting is going to be this upcoming Wednesday, the 12th. We are going to discuss changes and events, meet new people, eat free food, and have an all around good time. You should come.
8/30/07	The Involvement Fair this year will be on Sunday the 9th from 12pm - 4pm. This is different from previous years because it is after school begins rather than before it begins. I would love to see as many Guild people there to show support and recruit new musicians. Remember, we were all new once, looking for some place to meet fellow musicians.
6/21/07	GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! Not only is it the first day of summer, but I just got an email confirming our meetings for the fall & spring. Our meetings will be held in room 454 (like the year before last), at the same time as last year, 8pm on Wednesday's. We also have the room reserved for EVERY Wednesday except for finals weeks and spring break week.
4/18/07	I regret to inform everyone, but due to some registration confusion, we were not able to get a table for Livingston's Springfest. I still encourage all to go and enjoy Jibbs and the Bon Jovi tribute band.
4/14/07	For those who didn't hear, Tent State has been pushed back a week to April 23-28 due to the weather. It is not going to be warm enough outside for them.
4/14/07	For those who are interested, the pictures from the April 7 College Hall show are up. Go and peruse them when you have a second.
4/13/07	A few additions to our events. Next week is Tent State and we will have a table there supporting the event and advertising ourselves. On Friday 4/20, we will also have a table at an Underground Gaming Society convention that is happening in the Rutgers Gymnasium. The meeting this Wednesday will be our last for the semester, so come on out and enjoy some pizza and soda while learning about lyric writing.
4/10/07	If you didn't get President Richard's email, then let me give you a summary of what it said. At tomorrows meeting we will be having a special presentation of one of our members Damian teaching us some 'shredding' skills on the guitar. I have been able through my cunning prowess to hornswoggle us a huge plate of cookies, so those will be there. We will also be talking about fall semester events and things. Next week, will be our last meeting of the semester so we will be having food. We will also be enjoying a pleasant debate/workshop on lyric writing. So come one come all to enjoy these events.
4/5/07	I hope everyone is excited about the show coming up Saturday... well the people who are not going home for the weekend. Neal sent out an email with the links to the video of the Godilla vs. The Smurfs act. I was planning to set up a webpage for it, but Neal beat me to the punch. 4/1/07	At this Wednesday's meeting coming up(4/4/07), we will be having a treat. One of our members, Damian, will performing some lead work on the electric guitar. He will also be answering questions afterwords.
3/30/07	The Underground Gaming Society(a rutgers gaming club) is putting on a gaming tournament on April 20th in the College Ave. gymnasium. We will be having a table there for a few hours handing out flyers, informing people about what we are about, and perhaps have our own set-up of Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, or something. Ideas are welcome. They originally were going to have bands, but red tape got in the way of it, so, oh well.

3/26/07	Ok, here's the deal: I do too many other things instead of working on pictures. So the pictures aren't done yet although I have started them. I expect them to be ready by Wednesday since I have a quiz Tuesday and I need to study for that at least a little.
3/24/07	Neal has faithfully submitted his review of the March 23rd Yorba show. It is available for your viewing here. I am going to work on the pictures today and tomorrow and they should be up by Sunday evening.

2/28/07	Ok everyone, I finally have the pictures from the 2/23/07 Yorba Show up. There are a bunch so that is why it took me a while. I want to thank Jodie for taking photographs of End of Story (my band). Also this evening we had our guest speaker Aniket give a short lecture on The Physics of Sound. I would like to thank him very much for his presentation.
2/24/07	Wow! I certainly enjoyed last nights Yorba show. You missed out big if you didn't go. For those of you who missed out big, here is Neal's review of the Feb. 23, 2007 Yorba Show. As for the picture, I shall have them up by tomorrow evening.
2/11/07	This Wednesday's meeting is going to be our first music-related-movie night of the semester. We will be watching Detroit Rock City. To make sure we have enough time to get through it, we will be starting at 7:30pm instead of 8pm. There will also be various sorts of chocolate and candy since it will be February 14.
1/26/07	Thanks to Neal making me feel terrible about taking forever to get the December Yorba show pictures up, I hustled over the past few days and finally got that done. I want to once again apologize for it taking so long. Thank you Neal for that needed push.
1/24/07	This is just a heads up to inform everyone that we have our first 2 Yorba shows planned for February 23 for the first and March 23 for the second. If you want to play at either of them come to a meeting and let Richard or myself know.
1/16/07	After discussing it with President Richard, we have agreed that having the first meeting this week is too rushed. So our first meeting will be NEXT week 1/24/07. This will be the same day as the Involvement Fair.
1/15/07	RUMG welcomes the new semester and all of you back. Hope your break was good. Hope everyone paid respects to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Our first meeting will be THIS WEDNESDAY!! That is Jan. 17, 2 days from now. Following tradition we will be having food and drink and we will be discussing the new semester. All are more than welcome and I hope to see you there. Also, the Spring Involvement Fair will be a week from this Wednesday from 11am to 2pm in the Rutgers Student Center Multi-Purpost-Room. Please come and represent the group. It'll be fun, I promise.
1/2/07	Happy New Year everyone!! First off, Rutgers is having an Involvement Fair on Jan. 24th in the College Ave. Student Center Multi-Purpose Room. We are going to have a table with information about the Guild and all are welcomed to stop by and encouraged to stay and promote the organization. It is also encouraged to bring an acoustic instrument to show an example of what we are about.

11/27/06	This Friday's show is coming up fast and I am excited. This is our last show so it is going to be a blast. If you want to play it, come to this Wednesday's meeting. 11/15/06	I have been busy with schoolwork, but I finally got around to putting the pictures up from the Nov. 3rd Yorba Show. Also, my camera battery was dying, so I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked to.
11/4/06	I am trying to make up for my slowness of posting things after the October show, so I have up Neal's review of yesterday's show and the pictures should be up in the early part of the week, after my midterm. I hope all enjoyed the show yesterday, I know I did.

9/25/06	Hey all, our meeting this Wednesday is going to be at 7 pm so that we can hold our first music related movie night. We will be watching Spinal Tap. There will also be some brief announcements before the film, and a repeat of them afterword.

9/12/06	Once again, our meeting time has changed. The place and day are the same, but the new meeting time is 8pm changed from 7pm.
9/6/06	The first meeting of the semester is today at 7pm. There will be free pizza and soda. So come on by and enjoy some food while meeting some new faces and experiencing what the Rutgers University Musicians Guild is all about. Also, the pictures from the fall '06 involvement fair are up, so cruise on over to the photos page to check them out.
9/3/06	MEETING TIME AND LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED!! The meetings are still on Wednesdays, but the time has been changed to 7pm to 9pm and the new location is in Rutgers Student Center room 410A/B. Hope to see you there. Also, tell others who might not use the internet as often as yourself. Just a heads up that and the involvement fair tomorrow, Pardon My French will be playing at 1:30pm to represent us musically. Come and see them play even if you are not interested in stopping by at our table.

4/26/06	Our last meeting for the spring semester is today, so come, eat, and be merry. We will have a great discussion between art and obscene and we shall be chowing down on some delectable italian delicacies as well as enjoying some refreshing refreshments. We shall also be planning for next year, so all in all it should be a great meeting. See you there. I have changed the photos page. I believe that it might be a little easier use now. Why don't you take a look and see what you think.
4/24/06	I felt Andrea's review of the April 21st 2006 Yorba show had some very important points that needed to be brought into the open. There are others who have had grievances and have been passive in telling them. Andrea has been the first to start the debate, and for that I commend her. If you have anything to say about this, please share by emailing or messaging us. I finally put up the pictures from the April 21st 2006 show. You can view them on the Photos page. I was able to find a copy of Neal's review from the 11/18/05 Yorba show, and a copy of Neal's review from the 10/7/05 Yorba show. These are both up for reminiscing.
4/23/06	Neal's review of the April 21st Yorba show has finally been posted and the pictures from the April 21st show will be up soon. This was a very controversial show for the guild and one that we have a lot to say about.
