Upsilon Chapter CauseChapter Cause: LupusBeing the first Omega Phi Beta chapter in New Jersey has not been an easy feat, but with commitment and dedication the women of Upsilon Chapter have always felt that any vision can be made into reality. These women had to overcome many obstacles and one of these hurdles has been helping a chapter sister live with a disease few know much about: Lupus. For this reason we chose Lupus as our chapter cause. Lupus is a widespread and chronic (lifelong) autoimmune disease that, for unknown reasons, causes the immune system to attack the body's own tissue and organs, including the joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, blood, or skin. As part of our Chapter Cause, we have committed ourselves to educating the Rutgers community on what Lupus is, how it affects society as a whole, and how one can make a difference. Furthermore, any proceeds we collect from our Lupus-realted programs and events are donated to The Lupus Foundation of America towards finding a cure and helping people overcome this monumental obstacle. For more information on this disease please visit The Lupus Foundation of America at www.Lupus.org. Upsilon Chapter's 2005 Lupus Benefit Banquet![]() |
