Annual Events @ Upsilon
  • NY AIDS Walk - Annually

    AIDS Walk New York City is a 10 kilometer fundraising walkathon in that has been taking place since the mid 1980's. The Walkathon stands out as a model community action and cost-efficient fundraising. To date, Omega Phi Beta has raised over $2,000 for the cause.

  • Lupus Walk

    Lupus is our chapter cause and we provide any type of help we can. A walkathon in New York City and an annual Lupus banquet was held in 2004. Our Chapter was able to raise $1500, where all proceeds went to the funding further research for Lupus.

  • Annual Café S.O.L.E.I.L (Supporting Our Latinos to Enhance Inspiration Leaps)

    An annual coffee house event featuring performances by students of the Rutgers community. We were able to raise over $80 in donations in 2003. In 2004 we were able to raise over $50 in donations. The Proceeds went to the Latino Scholars Program.

  • Domestic Violence Awareness: Clothing line Project - Annually

    Omega Phi Beta's Upsilon Chapter hosts a table outside Brower Commons where we invite the student body and the community to come and share their thoughts on domestic violence. T-Shirts with phrases and designs were hung for others to see.

  • St. Jude's Penny Drive- Annually

    Upsilon Chapter participates in this National Omega Phi Beta initiative to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which provides care and treatment for Children with various forms of cancer as well as conducts research.

  • Annual Community Service

    Every year Upsilon Chapter also participates in different types of community service to better our environment. We tutor kids in local elementary school in New Brunswick, NJ, work in Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen (bi-weekly), and participate in the Community Health Fair with Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Department, and the Annual Wheel to Heel walkathon for the Cancer Institute for Children.
