CONSTITUTION - RUTGERS UNIVERSITY SQUASH RACQUETS CLUB

TITLE:

The club is entitled as the Rutgers University Squash Racquets Club

PURPOSE:

The club is primarily organized to compete extramurally, eventually as a team from Rutgers University in the United States National Championships hosted by the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association .As a secondary but long term investment towards this goal the club will promote instructional, community and recreational programs that are both intramural and extramural in nature.Because of current limitations in courts, equipment and playing standards the primary goal is strongly complemented by the secondary goal. Our long term goal is to assemble a competitive team and acquire sponsorhip to install regulation sized squash courts that have been specified by the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association-College Squash Association(CSA),United States Squash Racquets Association(USSRA) and the International Squash Racquets Federation(ISRF) on the Rutgers University campus.

Because of the scope of the organizational task and the limitations of students in numbers, experience and professional connections at the national / regional levels in the organized game of Squash Racquets the student role in the administration of the club will be limited in this primary constitution. The availability of alumni and faculty with the requisite qualifications will allow the rapid organization of the club into a regionally competitive body. The competitive nature of the club is predicated on final responsibility resting on the Rutgers University Squash Racquets Club’s team Coach. Subsequently the club constitution will be amended to make it consistent with the definitions provided by the Rutgers University Office of Recreational Services. This should leave it as a self sustaining organization with goals that are compatible with those of Rutgers University for its student body.

Clauses specified by Rutgers University and included verbatim:

Rutgers University Squash Racquets Club membership shall be open to all Rutgers University students and must comply with federal laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, disability, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation,or veteran status.”

The Rutgers University Squash Racquets Club shall abide by all applicable laws of the State of New Jersey and the United States.”
