RUCCAT is a Rutgers University student organization whose main goals are to raise awareness in the Rutgers community about human trafficking, which equates to modern-day slavery, and raise funds for organizations that work on the ground to liberate, rehabilitate, and advocate for victims of trafficking. We promote the purchase and consumption of ethically-made goods.

What is Trafficking?

Human trafficking, or modern day slavery, includes any kind of forced labor, from forced prostitution and sexual exploitation to agricultural labor, industrial labor, and child labor. It is the third largest criminal industry in the world after arms and drug dealing, generating billions of dollars in profit. It is a global industry that affects people across racial, social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
